We can learn from the example of the Children of Israel of what happens when we get stuck in old patterns of thinking. we need to be open to what God is doing.Most of the Israelites failed because they could not remain open to the move of God when God acted differently from their preconceived notions of how He would behave. This is clearly illustrated by how the Israelites react to the predicament they enter into when they reached the shores of the Red Sea after the Exodus. The sea was blocking their path in front of them and the Egyptian army was pursuing them from behind. They were in what seemed to be an impossible situation. (Exodus 14)
